Explore Sarah Lawrence College
Founded in 1926, Sarah Lawrence is a small, coeducational liberal arts college situated on 44 wooded acres in southern Westchester County, just a half hour north of midtown Manhattan by train or car. We are a community of 1,200 undergraduate students and 330 graduate students coming from nearly every state and from 35 countries. Eighty-five percent of our undergraduate students live on campus. Our facilities range from iconic Tudor-style buildings to a performance space modeled after the Globe Theatre of Shakespeare’s day, to our LEEDS-certified, 60,000-square-foot Heimbold Visual Arts Center; and these are but a few examples of the range of facilities our campus has to offer.
Our virtual tour and campus map will introduce you to our idyllic campus and give you a sense of what it’s like to live and work here. Yet as many of our visitors will tell you, the beauty of our campus is something best experienced in person. If at any time you have a question or would like to schedule a visit, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Sarah Lawrence students enjoy a vibrant community on a beautiful campus that happens to be less than a half hour from the abundant resources of New York City.
The graduate programs are characterized by Sarah Lawrence’s strong emphasis on individual scholarship and intensive collaborative work with members of the Sarah Lawrence faculty.
