Requirements for Bachelor of Arts Degree
A Bachelor of Arts degree is awarded at Sarah Lawrence College when a student has earned 120 college credits and has been a full-time student for at least two consecutive years. A qualified candidate for the Bachelor of Arts degree must also have been a full-time student on the Sarah Lawrence Bronxville campusduring either the junior or senior year.
In the fall semester of 1999, 278 first-time, full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students entered the College. After six years (as of August 31, 2005), 74 percent of these students had graduated from our institution. Students are expected to complete course requirements, to learn to think more clearly and critically, to consider fairly the ideas and attitudes of other people, to demonstrate substantial self-discipline, and to be responsible citizens and members of the College community.
Students are required to take four quarters (one year) of physical education, half of which must be completed in the first year. Registration for physical education classes takes place four times a year.
Sarah Lawrence College’s academic policies and procedures are detailed in the Student Handbook, which is available through the Dean of Studies Office.
