Transfer Applicants

We welcome transfer applications from students who will have successfully completed at least one full year of college (about 30 credits) and who expect to spend at least two consecutive years at Sarah Lawrence College. Students with courses in progress at the time of our application deadline may still apply provided they will have finished one full year of college work by the time they enroll at SLC.

Credit/Class Standing for Transfers

While the admission office utilizes college transcripts for evaluating an applicant's candidacy, the registrar's office makes all determinations regarding transferable credit and class standing. Typically, enrolling transfers receive final confirmation of their status after entering Sarah Lawrence. Our Registrar's Office is able to provide preliminary evaluations at any time during the admission process; the Registrar's Office can be reached at (914) 395-2301.

Financial Aid for Transfers

The College's financial aid budget for transfer students is limited. For further information about application deadlines for financial aid for transfer students, please visit our Financial Aid site.
