General Schedule for July 27th–August 2nd
7:30 a.m.
Breakfast
8 a.m.
Early Morning Session: These sessions will vary from day to day. Tuesday morning, for example, Former U.S. Poet Laureate, Donald Hall will speak informally about "The Poet's Life" discussing the passion to make poetry as well as the inconvenient aspect of making a living, finding time to write, etc.
9:30 a.m.
Workshops
- Prose workshops will be structured so that the composition of students in any particular class will remain the same with faculty changing each day.
- Poetry workshops will be structured so that the student make up of each class with shift each day.
12 p.m.

Afternoon Sessions 3
*Afternoon sessions will be a mix of readings and craft talks. For example, on Monday afternoon, Donald Hall will present his keynote reading during an afternoon session. On Friday Richard Selzer will do the same. On other days, faculty will talk about specific aspects of craft and give their own insights and approach. There will also be time set aside for participant readings.
5 p.m.
Café Muse: These sessions are hosted by two faculty members in rotation through the week. The purpose is to address in a helpful manner issues which come up spontaneously from the participants. Subjects range from craft and style to agents and publication and discussions are frank and informal.
6 p.m.
Dinner
7:30 p.m.
Evening Activities: these will include faculty readings as well as social gatherings and parties.
