The Cramps. The crowd was full of former reformed punks getting loose, young punks; but everyone danced like the songs had become part of them over the years. - 5 albums that would get you through the year that you will be stranded on a desert island?

Meeting Puff Daddy at the age of 12 in East Hampton, NY changed my entire musical perspective. My mother still has the photograph of this taped on the fridge.

- Best concert you've ever been to (and why, of course)?
I don't know if I can really pick my favorite concert. My first concert was U2 when i was a small child, and that was pretty epic. But recently my favorites have been Illinois (for all of the fun raucous they cause), Beck (he has a puppet replica of himself that dances around on stage), The Flaming Lips (because of all of the balloons and confetti) and The Blow (Khaela can dance like no other). - 5 albums that would get you through the year that you will be stranded on a desert island?
In no particular order:- Air - Moon Safari
- Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
- Beatles - White Album

There hasn't been an instant in my life that music hasn't been around. My father was a big influence on me early on. We used to listen to Patti Smith's Radio Ethiopia and The Dandy Warhols first album in the car on the way to school when I was eight. The other main musical influences in my life were/are attending/voluteering at the Rock & Roll Camp for Girls, finding out about riot grrrl and amazing female musicians, and a tumultuous relationship that introduced me to old school and hardcore punk.

- Best concert you've ever been to (and why, of course)?
TV on the Radio and Grizzly Bear at Irving Plaza, late 2006. Grizzly played, and then TV on the Radio played, and THEN they all came out for the encore, and THEN all the roadies and guitar techs and distant cousins of the guitar techs came out. There were about 25 people on stage, all playing some sort of homemade percussion instrument (cellphone on plastic bucket, wire clothes hanger on whiskey bottle, etc.), most without any sense of rhythm at all. It was mind-meltingly confusing and exceptionally fantastic. - 5 albums that would get you through the year that you will be stranded on a desert island?
