Racial/Ethnic Diversity and Campus Engagement
x2575—Bates, second floor
The Office of Racial/Ethnic Diversity and Campus Engagement works closely with faculty, staff, individual students, and student organizations to sponsor educational programs on race, ethnicity, and exclusion. The office supports students by advising the student of color identity groups, sponsoring student events and programs, providing support in dealing with issues related to prejudice and exclusion on campus through individual student meetings, supervising the Common Ground managers, and providing peer support for students of color and for students who are anti-racism activists. The office sponsors programs to encourage dialogue and critical consciousness on issues of race, ethnicity, and exclusion, through such mediums as film series, discussion groups, book clubs, speakers, and anti-oppression training.
