Student Activities
The Office of Student Activities offers a number of resources for students that enhance the Sarah Lawrence campus community. The office helps students start new clubs and organizations, trains them in running student groups and helps them organize special events on campus. The Student Activities office also serves as a base for the SLC Programming Board.
By meeting and working with the Director of Student Activities, you can receive assistance with starting a club or organization—as well as with publicity ideas, information/resources on various performers, and funding a campus event.
The Student Activities Office also sponsors the following:
Weekly programs and events
Every Friday night there is a film shown in the Film Viewing Room (in PAC) once at 8:00 p.m. and again at 10:00 p.m. These movies are selected by the students and range from current releases to cult classics and favorites.
A monthly program
Citylinks offers the opportunity to travel into Manhattan and see a performance (dance, theater, poetry) and discuss it with an accompanying faculty member.
Annual and special events
The Auction and Mayfair give the Sarah Lawrence community an opportunity to have fun and raise money for the Students for Students Scholarship Fund. Annual and special events include the Deb Ball, the oldest college AIDS fundraiser; Black History Month; Latino Empowerment Month; Asian Pacific Islander Awareness Month; Coming Out Month (which includes the Cross-Dress Cabaret); Sexual Assault Awareness Week; Song Night and Club Cabaret.
