Property Safety Tips
The vast majority of all thefts occur in unlocked areas. Theft is a crime of opportunity. Most thefts occur when valuables are left unattended and when the thief thinks there is little chance of being caught. Virtually any article, if left in plain view — unattended or unlocked — is likely to be stolen.
To reduce the chance of theft, make it difficult and risky for the thief. Keep your valuables:
- Locked up when not in use
- In your possession
- Out of sight
- Use the SLC Identiguard program
