Racial and Ethnic Diversity and Campus Engagement
The Office of Racial/Ethnic Diversity and Campus Engagement works closely with faculty, staff, students, and student organizations to sponsor educational programs on race, ethnicity, and exclusion. The office supports students by advising the students of color identity groups, sponsoring student events and programs, meeting with individual students to provide support in dealing with issues related to prejudice and exclusion on campus, supervising the Common Ground managers, and providing peer support for students of color and students who are anti-racism activists. The office is responsible for creating programs to encourage dialogue and critical consciousness on issues of race, ethnicity, and exclusion through such mediums as film series, discussion groups, book clubs, speakers, and anti-oppression training.
