Voluntary Insurance Plans
The following voluntary plans are paid entirely by the employee. Costs are available in the Human Resources Office.
- Dental Plan
Employees may choose to participate in the managed care dental plan provided by Aetna U.S. Healthcare, which focuses on preventive care. The plan provides comprehensive coverage for employees and their family members when they use dentists in or out of the Aetna U.S. Healthcare network. Use their "docfind" search tool to find a participating dentist near you. Use "Simple Steps to Better Dental Health" as a resource for dental health information. Information about the various co-payments or discounts are available in Human Resources. Premiums are paid through payroll deduction. You may join on the first of the month following employment or during open enrollment in October. View a summary of benefits» - Vision Plan
Employees may choose to participate in the vision plan provided by VSP, which covers examinations, glasses, contact lenses and laser surgery. Employees may use in- or out-of-network providers. Information about the various co-payments or discounts are available in Human Resources. Premiums are paid by the employee through payroll deduction. Employees may join on the first of the month following employment or during the open enrollment each year. There are no claim forms either for in-network or out-network services. Bills for out of network services should be submitted to VSP in accordance with the procedures in the brochure provided to each member. - Auto and Homeowners Insurance
Employees may choose to participate in MetLife Auto & Home, an insurance program which offers discounted coverages for auto, homeowners, renters, boat-owners and others. Employees participating in this plan will receive special group rates and the convenience of payments through payroll deduction. Enrollment is directly through MetLife and may take place throughout the year. Detailed information is available in the Human Resources Office. - Cancer Supplemental Plan
Employees may choose to participate in the AFLAC supplemental Cancer Protection Plan. This plan helps supplement primary health plans by providing direct-to-the-policyholder cash benefits to help fill gaps in traditional health insurance coverage, such as deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses and loss of earning power, among others. Premiums are paid by the employee through payroll deduction. Employees are eligible on the first of the month following employment or during open enrollment each year.
