Note: The Center serves as a laboratory school for Sarah Lawrence College students. Classes are in session from mid-September to mid-May, in accordance with the Sarah Lawrence College calendar. Consequently, we are closed during the College breaks.

Why ECC?

"Our family came the the Early Childhood Center in search of a more simple, true way of school, and found a community, a whole universe actually. We've said before that we are lucky to have found ECC. That is an understatement. During our years at ECC, I watched my children bloom immeasurably, make friends, struggle, triumph, learn, grow. I didn't expect to also experience all those things, too, but I have and I think I am a better person because of it. I know I am a richer person. I can not even begin to qualify what these years have been for us. We have yet to know how they will impact the ones yet to come, but as my children head out into the larger world, I take great comfort in knowing that in some important way, they will."
