Let's Talk Finance
The Let’s Talk Finance Workshop is for students only. This is a workshop for those who want to learn how to live the life they dream of living off of their current salary.
This workshop is facilitated by Karen Y. Williams, Assistant Director for Public Services, City of Houston Municipal Courts.
Many people believe that financial freedom is too difficult to attain and therefore, they don’t even try. Financial freedom is very much attainable—you just need a plan and the right tools to make it happen. Karen’s desire and motivation is that everyone be able to live the financial lifestyle they desire for themselves.
In her own words, Karen says, "I want to give people, who make their money the ordinary way, the tips and tools to become wealthy with whatever they make because it is possible and it can be done."
Her motto is "Ordinary Income, Extraordinary Lifestyle!"
Karen earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s Degree from Clark Atlanta University. Karen received her Certified Financial Planning certification at Rice University in 2012, although she’s been teaching about personal finance since her early adulthood. Her personal passion is teaching financial literacy to communities where the information is needed most.
