Patricia Dailey: The Craft of Unlearning: Pedagogy, Wonder, and the Engaging Art of Anglo-Saxon Riddles
Patricia Dailey, Sarah Lawrence College alumna and professor of English at Columbia University, will demonstrate how the poetic language of the riddles found in the 10th-century Exeter Book becomes the means for enchanting different forms of creation, imbuing things with a wonder and order proper to them, and most significantly, reorienting the mind with a new disposition and responsiveness to the surrounding world.
