ARCHIVED: Spanish professor Eduardo Lago awarded Chair of Excellence by University of Madrid, Carlos III
Dr. Eduardo Lago, Professor of Spanish and Spanish and Latin American Literature at Sarah Lawrence College, has been awarded a Chair of Excellence at the University of Madrid, Carlos III. The Chairs of Excellence, chosen by a committee of distinguished scholars, are granted by the University to scholars and researchers in a variety of fields who are affiliated with institutions of acknowledged international reputation. Dr. Lago was awarded one of three Chairs in the area of literature. In this capacity, he will meet with doctoral students and professors to share his expertise on the connections between North American and Latin American literature, his studies on translation, and his knowledge of literature by U.S. Latino writers in order to enrich the quality of the curriculum at the University.
