ARCHIVED: Award-Winning Columnist Bob Herbert of The New York Times to Discuss Post-Election 2008

The New York Times columnist Bob Herbert will speak at Sarah Lawrence College on Tuesday, November 18 at 1:30 pm in the Heimbold Visual Arts Center auditorium. Herbert will offer his thoughts on this historic election and its implications for the future of America. Twice weekly, his column comments on politics, urban affairs, and social trends.

Prior to joining The Times, Herbert was a national correspondent for NBC and reported regularly on "The Today Show" and "NBC Nightly News." He has worked as a reporter and editor at The Daily News, where he became a columnist and member of its editorial board.

Herbert has won numerous awards, including the Meyer Berger Award for coverage of New York City and the American Society of Newspaper Editors award for distinguished newspaper writing. He has also served as the chairman of the Pulitzer Prize jury for spot news reporting.

He has taught journalism at Brooklyn College and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
