We remember the following faculty and staff members who were vital members of the Sarah Lawrence community:
Marc Lappé, who taught developmental biology at the Center for Continuing Education in 1975, died at age 62 on May 14, 2005, at his home north of San Francisco. In addition to teaching, he was a noted author of books about the hazards and misuse of industrial chemicals.
Harold McLeod Turner, library assistant in reader services from 1960 to 1962, died on November 8, 2004 at age 90. During his time at Sarah Lawrence he also helped students with the business management of The Campus, as the student newspaper was then known.
Susan Sontag, the essayist, novelist, and cultural and political commentator, who taught philosophy at Sarah Lawrence in 1959-60, died in New York City on December 28, 2004.
