In April, teams of student and faculty gourmets competed in the SLC version of the popular cooking show. Each team had one hour to make an appetizer, entree, and dessert, all using the secret ingredient: dried cranberries. It was a close battle, says Mary Spellman, dean of student affairs and one of the judges. Though the faculty team emerged victorious, the students earned the more valuable prize: cooking in the residence halls will never seem intimidating again.
