Sarah Lawrence strives to serve these communities in a variety of ways. Our students, faculty and staff are engaged with schools, advocacy and service organizations, and local businesses, sharing their energies and passions on and beyond the campus.

The Writing Institute

Non-credit Writing Institute classes for adults are offered in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, children's literature, screenwriting, and more. Small classes employ the workshop method and provide interaction with a skilled and sensitive faculty and with other adults for whom the art of writing well is important. | Learn more»

Pre-College and High School Programs

Non-residential programs for high school students are offered in the spring and fall, and both non-residential and residential programs are offered in the summer. | Learn more»

InTouch

Published three times a year, InTouch is a free newsletter that serves as a guide for neighbors and friends to find out about the College and events that are open to the public, such as concerts, readings, lectures, conferences, classes, exhibits, and more. | Sign up for InTouch»

Campus Events

Continuing Education

The Center for Continuing Education provides the opportunity for adult learners to complete their undergraduate degree, pursue lifelong learning ambitions, or prepare for advanced study within the framework of a highly personalized educational approach. | Learn more»

Early Childhood Center

The Early Childhood Center, a laboratory pre-school, offers programs for children ages 2-6 and benefits from the presence of SLC students as participant observers. The school, which has a capacity of 130 children, is located on campus, making it convenient to many locations in and around Westchester County. | Learn more»

Musicians for Hire

Sarah Lawrence's prestigious music department is a valuable resource for members of the local community who are seeking to provide live music at an event. To hire our professional musicians and/or music students, fill out, save, and return our request form to musiciansforhire@sarahlawrence.edu. The form features questions that will help you think through the musical aspects of your event, and will ensure that you are paired with the right musician for your occasion.
