If you are in J-1 status and wish to extend your stay, you must request the support of your adviser at the agency sponsoring your studies/research. This office will need to verify your documents once you are approved by your sponsoring agency. Prior to visiting the OMIA, make certain that your personal information is correctly recorded in the school’s system, and please remember to bring your passport and all supporting documents, including a current DS 2019 form with you.

The OMIA Director is available to assist you with your questions and/or concerns. Do not hesitate to contact our office for this purpose.
