Living in and Exploring Berlin

Students will be living in Friedrichshain, a neighborhood in the former East now known for restaurants, clubs and an exciting mix of cultures. Friedrichshain provides access to all modes of public transportation to facilitate easy exploration of Berlin. Classes will be held at one of Germany's most prestigious universities for the arts, University for the Arts/Ernst Busch Hochschule at Weissensee. While students are encouraged to explore all of Berlin, many of the neighborhoods will be visited during our trips and excursions.

In class and on-site teaching will take place the first four weeks, while the fifth week will be used for the creation, completion, and presentation of Independent Projects.

Excursions

Weekends are designated for traveling. Tours in and of Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden, including an overnight excursion to dOCUMENTA13, are part of the tuition fees. One weekend is set aside for students to pursue their own independent travel.
