Tuition remission benefits for attendance at Sarah Lawrence undergraduate and graduate programs will be extended to the dependent children and spouses or domestic partners of any employee who has completed ten years of eligible service with the College and who retires at normal retirement age, or who dies or becomes totally disabled while in active service with the College. Benefits for attendance at the Early Childhood Center will be extended to the dependent children of any employee who has completed ten years of eligible service and who retires at normal retirement age, or who dies or becomes totally disabled while in active service. This extension of benefits will be administered according to the general tuition remission policies explained above. The amount of remission will be based on the employment schedule of the employee during his or her years of active service.

For purposes of this extension of benefits policy, "active service" is defined as any period when an employee is on the College payroll. However, an employee who has been removed from the College payroll for the summer months or an employee who is on an approved unpaid leave of absence of two months or less, is considered to be in active service with the College and is eligible for this extension of benefits provided he or she meets all the other requirements outlined above.
