Monologue Workshop

Examine successful auditioning techniques; from exploring the audition process, finding the right material to offering advice on resume preparation and selection of headshots. Actors will practice cold readings as well as work on bringing monologues to performance level. Emphasis will be placed on how to best present oneself in an audition. Students are asked to bring a monologue they are currently working on to the first session if they have one.
Poetry Workshop

Discover your poetic voice. Through imaginative poetry prompts, in-class workshops, reading as writers, and engaging our poetic senses, explore ways to help construct your writing and revising. This is not a class to form your work to fit into a particular mold, but to help your work sound like it comes from your most creative individual self.
Writing for College

Learn the skills needed for writing college-level essays, reports, and research papers. Through lectures and hands-on work, students learn the structure of various forms of writing, the style requirements of different disciplines such as footnotes and bibliographies, how to conduct research, and essential elements of grammar and syntax.
