Health Emergencies

During hours that Health Services is open (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) urgent and emergency care is provided on a walk-in basis in Lyles House. When Health Services is closed, students with serious medical concerns can access a doctor by calling Westlands desk at ext. 2222.

In case of a medical emergency or if you prefer to go directly to the hospital, call ext. 2222 and security will transport you to the Lawrence Hospital emergency room—or will call an ambulance for you, if appropriate. When you need to return to campus, call (914) 395-2209; security will return to pick you up.

There is always a member of the Student Affairs staff on call (through Westlands desk). The staff member can answer questions, assist you with a medical situation, put you in touch with mental health professionals from Health Services or accompany you to the hospital. The on-call person can serve as your advocate with hospital staff and be a companion if you are at the hospital alone. Let the Westlands dispatcher or a security officer know if you would like the on-call person to meet you at the hospital.
