Hotel Information

There are several hotels near the campus of Sarah Lawrence College. They are three to six miles away. A free shuttle will pick up passengers from the Bronxville train station, the Hampton Inn and the Residence Inn. Unfortunately, because of traffic, weather and other varying circumstances, we cannot provide a precise schedule. The shuttle will run continuously Friday evening 4:00pm to 10:30pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:00pm and 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Make sure that you are on the women's history conference shuttle, not the Sarah Lawrence shuttle.

Directions to Sarah Lawrence College

By Train:

From Grand Central Station, take the Metro North (Harlem Line) to Bronxville Train station. Taxi service is available at the station for the five minute ride to the college. On weekends, trains generally operate on an hourly basis. For schedule and fare information call Metro-North at 1-800-METRO GO (1-800-638-7646), inquire at the information booth in Grand Central Station, or go Metro-North online.

Walking from Bronxville Train station:
From the train walk left and go under the bridge on to Palmer Avenue.
Walk down the hill to the second light at Palmer Ave and Kimball. Turn left on to Kimball. Walk three blocks (up hill) past the main entrance of the college on Kimball and Glen Washington. Walk through the light to the Heimbold building across the street on your right. It is the tall building that faces Slonim, you can only see the side of Heimbold from the street.

By Car:

From New York City (West Side of Manhattan):
Take the West Side Highway North to the Henry Hudson/Saw Mill Parkway. Exit at the Cross County Parkway East. Exit the Cross County Pkwy at Kimball Avenue, Exit #5. At the traffic light at the end of the ramp, turn left onto Kimball Avenue. Follow Kimball Avenue to second traffic light (about one-half mile) and turn right at light onto Glen Washington Road. Andrews parking lot is immediately on the right. The Heimbold building is across Kimball Avenue, directly across from Andrews parking lot.

From New York City (East Side of Manhattan):
Take the FDR Drive North to the Major Deegan to the New York State Thruway (87) to the Cross County Parkway East. Exit the Cross County Parkway at Kimball Avenue, Exit #5. At the traffic light at the end of the ramp, turn left onto Kimball Avenue. Follow Kimball Avenue to the second traffic light, at the light turn right onto Glen Washington Road. Andrews parking lot is immediately on the right. The Heimbold building is across Kimball Avenue, directly across from Andrews parking lot.

From Connecticut:
Take either the Merritt Parkway South to the Hutchinson River Parkway or Interstate 95 South to Interstate 287 West to the Hutchinson River Parkway. Once you are on the Hutchinson River Parkway South, follow Parkway to Cross County Parkway heading West. Take Exit #5 (Kimball and Midland Avenues) off the Cross County Parkway. At the end of the ramp, turn right onto Midland Avenue and at traffic light, turn left onto Kimball Avenue. Follow Kimball Avenue to the second traffic light. At the light, turn right onto Glen Washington Road. Andrews parking lot is immediately on the right. The Heimbold building is across Kimball Avenue, directly across from Andrews parking lot.

From Northern Westchester and Upstate New York:
Take the Taconic Parkway South to the Sprain Brook Parkway South to the Bronx River Parkway. Exit the Bronx River at the Cross County Parkway West. Take Exit #5 off the Cross County Parkway. At the end of the ramp, turn right onto Midland Avenue and at traffic light, turn left onto Kimball Avenue. Follow Kimball Avenue to the second traffic light. At the light, turn right onto Glen Washington Road. Andrews parking lot is immediately on the right. The Heimbold building is across Kimball Avenue, directly across from Andrews parking lot.

From Long Island:
Take the Whitestone Bridge or Throgs Neck Bridge to the Hutchinson River Parkway. Take Exit 13 off the Hutchinson River Parkway onto the Cross County Parkway. Take Exit #5 (Kimball and Midland Avenues) off the Cross County Parkway. At the end of the ramp, turn right onto Midland Avenue and at traffic light, turn left onto Kimball Avenue. Follow Kimball Avenue to the second traffic light. At the light, turn right onto Glen Washington Road. Andrews parking lot is immediately on the right. The Heimbold building is across Kimball Avenue, directly across from Andrews parking lot.

From New Jersey:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) North to the George Washington Bridge. After bridge, exit for the Major Deegan North (I-87). Continue north on the Major Deegan, which becomes the New York State Thruway (I-87) to the Cross County Parkway East. Exit the Cross County Parkway at Exit #5 (Kimball Avenue). At the traffic light at the end of the ramp, turn left onto Kimball Avenue. Follow Kimball to the second traffic light. At the light, turn right onto Glen Washington Road. Andrews parking lot is immediately on the right. The Heimbold building is across Kimball Avenue, directly across from Andrews parking lot.
