Graduate Aid for International Students
Sarah Lawrence College awards limited, need-based gift aid to international students (holders of non-U.S. passports). As a highly selective college, we do not offer specific “merit scholarships.” After we decide to admit a student, the College awards financial aid based upon the student’s demonstrated need. To apply for financial aid, you will need to send the following documents:
- After September 15, register for the College Scholarship Service (CSS) financial aid PROFILE form online. For background and assistance, see “How to Complete the Profile”. When you register online, your personalized PROFILE application will be available to complete over the Web. You may list up to 10 colleges on this form; Sarah Lawrence College’s CSS or PROFILE code is 2810. Submit the Profile by February 15th. We recommend that you submit the Profile by February 15th. Students applying to programs with rolling admissions who apply after February 15th may still apply for aid.
- You will also need to supply either translated tax returns or translated statements of income from your employers. Some countries do not have income tax and so you will not be able to furnish us with tax receipts. We still need official documentation of annual income. An official letter on company letterhead from an employer, for example, is acceptable. We need to have as much information and documentation as possible about your income and assets in order to assess your financial need.
- As a graduate student, you do not need to provide any financial information about your parents (neither on the CSS Profile nor directly to Sarah Lawrence College). Tax and other documents should be sent to the address or fax below as soon as available, preferably by April 15th.
Tax and other documents should be sent to the address or fax number below, postmarked no later than February 15th.
