Reunion Giving

Renewing your belief in the value of a Sarah Lawrence education.
Your SLC legacy is the life you live in the world, it’s the way you share your knowledge with others and it’s the support and inspiration you give to future generations of Sarah Lawrence students. Alumni donations help every student, every day.
We are just five weeks away from Reunion 2013. If you haven’t sent in a gift to The Fund for Sarah Lawrence, now is the time! This is the perfect moment to begin, renew or increase your giving. You can boost your class participation rate and giving total by making your own donation to the Fund before May 31, 2013.

What Counts as a Reunion Gift?
- All gifts given to the unrestricted Fund for Sarah Lawrence during fiscal year 2013 (June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013).
- All gifts, restricted and unrestricted, given to Sarah Lawrence College since your last Reunion (June 1, 2008 through May 31, 2013), count toward a Comprehensive Giving total.
- A gift made in your honor counts toward your class Reunion total.
- A matching gift from an employer counts toward Reunion.
- A gift directed by your family foundation counts as well, as do gifts arranged by corporate or public foundations in your honor.
- Any planned gift that receives Sarah Lawrence gift credit is included in the class’s total effort. Additionally, confirming a bequest provision in your will or living trust, establishing a life-income gift, or naming the College as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement plan will earn you membership in the William & Sarah Lawrence Society and boost your class’s Reunion Gift total.
- Event fees or dues do not count as gifts to Sarah Lawrence or Reunion.
Reunion Class Gift Goals
- Donor Participation
Participation is a critical indicator of alumni confidence and a key benchmark for foundations and corporations when making decisions about grants to the College. Gifts of every size are appreciated and are used in the most efficient ways possible.
- Total FSL Gift
The Fund for Sarah Lawrence (FSL) gift is the total amount of all unrestricted gifts from any member of the class in the current fiscal year.
- Comprehensive Reunion Gift
The 5-Year Comprehensive Gift total includes all gifts to restricted and unrestricted funds since your last Reunion (June 1, 2008 through May 31, 2013).
Class Recognition
At Reunion, individual classes will be recognized with two kinds of special awards and celebrations: Reunion Terrace Awards and the Westlands Awards.
