Executive in the Internet infrastructure industry as Senior Marketing Officer of Cisco Systems. Founding Chair of the Board of Acumen Fund, a social venture fund investing in enterprises developing affordable goods and services for the poor in India, Pakistan, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Founder of Astia, a business accelerator for women technology entrepreneurs. Member of Advisory Board to Stanford University Social Innovation Review, and Duke University Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship. Board member of BRAC and PolicyLink. Current interests include the development of social entrepreneurship as a field; the role of social enterprise as an intervention to address systemic problems; and the power and limits of social entrepreneurship for achieving scalable impact and sustainable change.
