Melissa Febos
BA, The New School University. MFA, Sarah Lawrence College. Melissa is the co-curator and host of the popular monthly music and reading series, Mixer, on the Lower East Side. She teaches writing and literature at SUNY Purchase College & NYU, in addition to offering private editing and instruction. Her writing has appeared in publications including the New York Times, Salon, BOMB, Hunger Mountain, and Glamour, and she has been featured on NPR's Fresh Air, Anderson Cooper, and the cover of the New York Post. She is a 2010 & 2011 MacDowell Colony Fellow, a 2012 Breadloaf Fellow, and her memoir, Whip Smart, was published by St. Martin’s Press/Thomas Dunne Books in March 2010. She is currently at work on a novel about music, madness, and dioramas. SLC, 2011 -
