Research focus on studying the down regulation of genes responsible for floral symmetry in flowering plants by performing viral-induced gene splicing using a viral vector; particular expertise in scanning electron microscopy, as well as a variety of molecular techniques; author of papers on gene expression and gene silencing in florally divergent species. Recipient of a Clare Boothe Luce Doctoral Fellowship and grant support from the National Science Foundation. SLC, 2014–
