Email an Alum Via the Community
One of the many features of One Mead Way is its ability to send Community-based e-mails to fellow alums. This way, you can still contact an alum who has chosen not to publish his or her personal information on One Mead Way.
1. After searching for an alum using the online directory (check out the relevant “How to Find an Alum tutorial here), the Community will list your search results.
2. From here, you can either open an alum’s specific member page by clicking on their name or you can immediately e-mail the alum by clicking on the icon to the right of their name.
3. If you choose to open an alum’s member page, you can then e-mail them by clicking on “Send member an email”.
This opens up One Mead Way’s Community-based e-mail tool, rather than your e-mail client. (This is done to obscure fellow alums’ e-mail address, should they wish to keep it private.) As you can see, your e-mail address will be displayed, but the recipient’s information is still private.
4. Simply fill out the subject and the message as desired.
5. Hit the “Preview” button.
Here, you can review your message. If you choose to edit the message, simply hit the “Edit” button.
6. Hit the “Send” button.
