Inauguration Update

The Inauguration of Karen Lawrence had a little something for everyone. Find it all on the Inauguration Web site:

Music: Listen to performances by faculty, students, and guests at the Inaugural Concert.

Poetry: Hear Mark Strand, former U.S. Poet Laureate, reading a Grace Paley poem during the ceremony.

Good advice: Read transcripts of the greetings to President Lawrence from representatives of the faculty, staff, students, other colleges, foundations, and the local community.

Philosophy: Hear four distinguished panelists' take on liberal education in the 21st century.

Inauguration on the Road is underway: Chicago-area alumnae/i, parents, and friends of the College met President Lawrence at an event on October 21. Lawrence spoke about liberal education and fielded questions about the U.S. News rankings and the College's financial situation, and everyone enjoyed a tasty lunch. More Inaugural year events
