On Campus: Plan a Visit to SLC
To provide a quick glimpse of Sarah Lawrence, we offer year-round campus tours, info sessions and personal interviews. If you have the luxury of time, we encourage you to sit in on a class or stay overnight with a current student.
Please feel free to contact the Office of Admission to arrange a campus visit at (800) 888-2858 or (914) 395-2510.

Information Sessions
These 30-minute sessions will familiarize you with the key elements of our unique academic system and the application process at Sarah Lawrence. Information sessions are offered twice daily at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Please call in advance to schedule an information session.
Campus Tours
Student-led campus tours are offered during the academic year at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.; during the summer they are offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tours last approximately 90 minutes. The tour will cover most of the campus; we strongly recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Please call (800) 888-2858 in advance of your visit to schedule a tour.
We also offer a Self-Guided Tour (PDF download) should you wish to explore campus on your own.
Personal Interviews (for seniors and transfers)
Personal interviews are not a required part of the Sarah Lawrence application process, but they can provide an opportunity for students to talk individually with an admission representative to learn more about the College. You should think of the interview not as a trial to be endured but as an opportunity to interview us—to ask the questions you want to ask, to meet personally with someone who knows the College well, and to get a sense of how your needs and interests would be met by Sarah Lawrence. Current seniors or admission staff conduct interviews on campus, while our alumni conduct off-campus interviews. Please note that if you are unable to interview on campus or meet with an alumni interviewer, this will not be held against you in the admission process.
On-campus interviews are available, by appointment, for both first-year and transfer applicants from April through mid-February. Saturday interviews are available, by appointment, from October through mid-December. We are also pleased to offer prospective students the opportunity to interview with trained SLC alumni volunteers in their home area. Alumni interviews are available by appointment from September through mid-February for first-year applicants and from September through March for transfer applicants. While we will try to accommodate all requests, alumni interviews are not guaranteed.
If you are interested in speaking with an SLC alum in your area, please fill out the Alumni Interview Request form and we will contact you soon. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact R. Aiden Bussey, Alumni Program Coordinator, at rbussey@sarahlawrence.edu.
Class Visits (for seniors and transfers)
Seniors and transfers are welcome to sit in on a course during their visit to campus. There is perhaps no better way to get a feel for the academic culture of Sarah Lawrence. If you are interested in scheduling a class visit, please call the Office of Admission at least two weeks prior to your visit to reserve a space.
Class visits are available from October through early December and from February through April. Please plan to stay for the duration of the class session. Due to the small size of our courses and the large number of requests we receive, only prospective students may visit classes (parents and other guests should make other plans). Only one class visit per student is permitted.
Overnight Visits (for seniors and transfers)
During the academic year, high school seniors and transfer applicants are invited to stay overnight on campus. Experiencing a day in the life of a Sarah Lawrence student will give you a sense of cultural context that a Web site cannot. Overnight visits are scheduled on Monday through Wednesday nights and are available from October through mid-December and February through April. If you are interested in scheduling an overnight visit, please call the Office of Admission at least two weeks in advance.
