On Campus: Plan a Visit to SLC

Prospective students and their families are encouraged to experience Sarah Lawrence College through campus tours, information sessions, and personal interviews. Class visits and overnights are available for high school seniors and transfer students. You may schedule your visit at https://apply.slc.edu/portal/visitslc. Alternately, you may contact the Office of Admission at (800) 888-2858, (914) 395-2510, or visitslc@sarahlawrence.edu.

Admission Office Hours

The Office of Admission is open year-round from Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and on most Saturdays from September through November and in March and April.

Information Sessions

Available year round Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and on select Saturdays in the fall and spring, our 30-minute presentations will familiarize you with the key elements of our unique academic system and the application process at Sarah Lawrence.

Campus Tours

Student-led campus tours are offered year round Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m and on select weekends in the fall and spring. Tours last approximately 60 minutes and will cover most of the campus. We strongly recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

We also offer a Self-Guided Tour (PDF download) should you wish to explore campus on your own.

Personal Interviews (for seniors and transfers)

On-campus interviews are available for those planning to enroll as first-year or transfer students at Sarah Lawrence College for the spring or fall 2015 semester. Requests for interviews via Skype or with alumni will be available beginning in August for those who are unable to visit campus.

Interviews are available Monday through Friday and on select Saturdays at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. for high school seniors and transfer students. Interviews are available by appointment only.

Personal interviews are not a required part of the Sarah Lawrence application process, but they can provide an opportunity for students to talk individually with an admission representative to learn more about the College. You should think of the interview not as a trial to be endured but as an opportunity to interview us—to ask the questions you want to ask, to meet personally with someone who knows the College well, and to get a sense of how your needs and interests would be met by Sarah Lawrence. Current seniors or admission staff members conduct interviews on campus, while our alumni conduct off-campus interviews. Please note that if you are unable to interview on campus or meet with an alumni interviewer, this will not be held against you in the admission process.

Class Visits (for seniors and transfers)—Fall and Spring Only

High school seniors and transfers are welcome to sit in on a class during their visit to campus. There is perhaps no better way to get a feel for the academic culture of Sarah Lawrence. If you are interested in scheduling a class visit, please call the Office of Admission at (800) 888-2858, (914) 395-2510 or visitslc@sarahlawrence.edu at least two weeks prior to your visit to reserve a space.

Class visits are available from October through early December and from February through April. Please plan to stay for the duration of the class session. Due to the small size of our courses and the large number of requests we receive, only prospective students may visit classes (parents and other guests should make other plans). Only one class visit per student is permitted.

Overnight Visits (for seniors and transfers)—Fall and Spring Only

During the academic year, high school seniors and transfer applicants are invited to stay overnight on campus. Experiencing a day in the life of a Sarah Lawrence student will give you a sense of cultural context that a Web site cannot. Overnight visits are scheduled on Monday through Wednesday nights and are available from October through mid-December and February through April. If you are interested in scheduling an overnight visit, please call the Office of Admission at least two weeks in advance.

Eight of the BestSarah Lawrence is honored to be part of "Eight of the Best Colleges." Learn more about upcoming receptions we'll be attending.
