First conference project you worked on?
My psych professor allowed me to write a short story about child psychology as my conference project.
Why did you choose to transfer to Sarah Lawrence College?
I wanted the feeling of a more artistic community—where students feel passionate about what they’re learning.
What is the biggest difference between SLC and the school you transferred from?
Everyone loves what they do, whether it’s writing, acting, dancing, etc. Everyone is so excited about their passion, and it’s really terrific.
How has the transition been as a transfer student?
It was really easy. Everyone is super friendly and I adjusted really well—socially and academically. I think this school was instantly a great fit for me.
What has the donning and conference system been like so far for you?
It’s been great. The individual attention is really unique from other schools. My don is not only an inspiration but also a friend. I really feel like I’m being looked after, and taken care of when I’m really stressed out about any aspect of life.
What's your favorite place on campus?
The giant rock near Hill House.
What campus events have you gone to so far?
A lot of events in the Blue Room and poetry readings
Have you spent time in New York City?
Yeah! I take the train into the city about once a week.
What are you looking forward to in the rest of your time at SLC?
Lots of writing. This is what I dreamed about doing in school—reading and writing as much as I possibly can. I hope to read my poetry at SLC events and also expand my interest in other directions, such as taking screen writing classes.
What advice can you offer students who are considering transferring to SLC?
If you are dedicated, hard working and passionate about what you’re learning, SLC is a great school for you. And be really friendly when you get here! The people here are so wonderful.
