General Orientation Information
Classes begin on Monday, September 10th!
Important Note: Throughout the year, the College will contact you through voicemail, e-mail and campus mail. It is therefore extremely important that you set up your voicemail and e-mail as soon as possible. Also remember to periodically check your campus mailbox as you are responsible for any and all communication that you are sent by the College. (Please note: Voicemail is free to set up and does not initiate long distance service.)
General Announcements
You will receive a daily e-mail each morning (sent to your SLC e-mail account) listing that day’s events. If you wish to add an announcement to that e-mail, e-mail the text to collegeevents@sarahlawrence.edu by 7 a.m.
Room change requests will not be accepted until Monday, September 24. Room change forms will be available at that time, no sooner, in the Student Affairs office. When you pick up a form you must make an appointment to see Sarah Cardwell, Assistant Dean for Residence Life. Room changes are not guaranteed.
Students living in non-college housing must give their address and phone # to Info. Systems no later than Friday, Sept. 14th at 5 p.m. Questions? Call X2575.
Deadline for conference course, independent study and fieldwork proposals is Friday, September 7. Proposals must be turned in to the Dean of Studies Office by that date to be considered. Reminder: conference courses, independent studies and fieldwork may not be added as a fourth course for five credits; they must be part of your initial three-course program.

Off Campus
The bulletin board in Bates (outside Student Affairs) fills up fast with ads for off-campus jobs. Lots of local families are seeking childcare help. There are several requests for private tutors and some retail sales opportunities.
